When Life Tests Us
This week brought a little bit of everything at MVJA!
Our students completed MAP testing, giving us an opportunity to see how they are growing academically and where we can continue to support them. But some of the most important lessons this week happened outside of a test.
We spent time learning how to work together, communicate, solve problems, and share ideas. We even transformed our classroom into a restaurant! Students worked together to build and create their restaurant, taking an idea and bringing it to life as a team.
During worship, we also talked about the power of prayer and how important it is to make prayer a regular part of our lives. God doesn’t want us to call on Him only when everything else has failed. He invites us to talk to Him, depend on Him, and call out to Jesus every day.
Tests don’t only come on computers or worksheets. Sometimes life tests our patience, our faith, our ability to work together, or our willingness to keep going when things are difficult.
But while times may test us, Jesus never fails.
My prayer is that our students will continue growing not only academically, but also in their relationships with one another and, most importantly, in their relationship with Jesus.
Pieces with a Purpose: United in Christ.

🔎 A Closer Look
Learning Is Everywhere!
What happens when you turn a classroom into a restaurant? You discover just how many subjects can come together in one experience!
This week, our students worked together to create their own classroom restaurant. They used LEGOs to design and build the restaurant, put their literacy skills to work creating menus, and connected the experience to Social Studies as they explored supply and demand.
One of the best parts was seeing students across grade levels find a way to participate. Even our older students had a role to play, bringing their own ideas and abilities to the project while working alongside the younger students.
It was a truly cross-curricular moment—literacy, Social Studies, creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork all coming together in one classroom.
Sometimes the best learning doesn’t fit neatly into just one subject!
