Learning Is Everywhere
One of the things I love about working with students of different ages is seeing how many different forms learning can take in a single day.
This week, our students learned through stories, art, discussion, exploration, Bible lessons, vocabulary, and time spent working together. Some lessons were carefully planned, while others grew naturally from a question, an observation, or something that sparked a student’s curiosity.
It is a wonderful reminder that learning does not always happen with a pencil in hand.
Sometimes it happens when a student stops to examine something interesting outside. Sometimes it begins with a picture book that leads to a conversation about courage and what it means to be a hero. Sometimes it happens when an older student helps a younger one, or when a child finally understands something that was difficult just a few days before.
As educators, we prepare lessons and set academic goals for our students, but we are also helping them learn how to wonder, create, solve problems, show kindness, and see God in the world around them.
That is one of the blessings of Christian education. We are not simply preparing students for the next assignment, test, or grade level. We are helping them grow academically, socially, creatively, and spiritually.
Every lesson may look a little different, but each one adds another piece to who our students are becoming.
Pieces with a Purpose: United in Christ.
📣 Teacher’s Aide Needed
MVJA is currently seeking a Teacher’s Aide to assist with our Kindergarten students for approximately 20 hours per week.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and is willing to support students with classroom activities, learning tasks, and daily routines.
Interested individuals will need to:
- Complete the required background check
- Provide a current résumé to be submitted to the New Jersey Conference
